That’s what he resorted to during a conversation with Michael Irvin’s agent, Steve Endicott, about renegotiating Irvin’s contract.
“Jerry says to me, ‘Steve, you know that town out in West Texas, El Paso?’” Endicott recalls Jones saying of his proposal. ‘“Well, I think we’re going to El Paso on that.’”
Despite being mostly a basketball player in college (he played just one year of football at the University of Miami), Graham’s athletic gifts made him a fascinating NFL prospect. He ran a 4.56 at the combine while measuring in at 6’6, 260 pounds — a combination of size and speed that would make him an imposing matchup for opponents.
Sure enough, the Saints got the most they could out of Graham after selecting him in the third round of the 2010 NFL draft. He went on to be one of the most prolific tight ends in the game, scoring 51 touchdowns in five seasons with the Saints. In 2014, New Orleans gave Graham a four-year contract extension, worth up to $40 million with $20.9 million in guarantees. It seemed liked Graham would be a Saint for life, forming a career-long connection with Drew Brees similar to the one shared by Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates.
Unfortunately, Graham’s Saints tenure didn’t last long after that. He had another strong performance in 2014 with 10 touchdowns and 885 yards on 85 catches, but the Saints ran into salary cap hell in the offseason and needed to clear space off the books, so they decided to put Graham on the trade market. The Seahawks pounced, sending a first-round pick and center Max Unger to New Orleans.
Scott Wilson dodged the contagious injury bug.
Mens JuJu Smith-Schuster Jersey The Penguins winger is doing fine after taking a hit to the head from Senators winger Tommy Wingels in Sunday’s Game 5 blowout, coach Mike Sullivan announced Monday after the team’s optional practice.
As the Democrat and Chronicle noted Wednesday, a longstanding state law grants Madison Square Garden’s owners an exemption from property taxes as long as they play all of their home games at the arena. That exemption is expected to run about $42 million this year, according to the city’s budget office.
Having the Sabres serve as the home team will result in one fewer game at KeyBank Center next season. Buffalo’s fans might not be happy about that, but the league compensates teams for lost home dates, so it won’t affect the Sabres’ bottom line. That would not have been the case if the Rangers bailed on one of their usual 41 MSG dates.
Mens Alonzo Mourning Jersey According to the Democrat and Chronicle, the NHL said a variety of factors played into the decision to have the Sabres be the home team, but the league didn’t specify any of them.
No matter the outcome in the final series, the Predators have already made an indelible mark on Nashville’s sports history. The resiliency of this team is impressive with wins over Anaheim in the final two games of the series after losing Johansen and Fisher to injuries.
Titans OTAs and minicamps used to be a big deal in May and June, but no one’s talking about Tennessee’s pro football team this month 斜薪 other than saluting Marcus Mariota and his offensive linemen for being the chief rally towel wavers at the Game 3 win over the Ducks.
The Ducks will be without No. 1 goalie John Gibson as they play to save their season Monday in Game 6 of the Western Conference finals.
Gibson, who suffered a lower-body injury in the first period of Saturday’s 3-1 loss to the Predators, expressed hope he would be healthy enough to start in net and partook in morning skate Monday, lending to some optimism he would be given the green light.
So much, in fact, that Tennesseeans won’t be permitted to purchase the bottom-feeding fish.
You have to show ID if you want to buy catfish here, co-owner Jim Wholey told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. If you’re from Tennessee, we’re not selling it to you.
Aaron Donald Game Jersey
Predators fans have been throwing catfish on the ice since 2003, a tradition inspired by Red Wings fans who toss octopi at Detroit games. However, Wholey’s had also refused to sell octopi to Red Wings fans when their team played the Penguins in back-to-back Stanley Cup Final appearances in 2008 and 2009. While they hate to turn away paying customers, the fish market intends to keep that tradition alive.
Elite Kids Jesse James Jersey
Like I said in 2008, this is for eating, not throwing, co-owner Dan Wholey told the Tribune-Review. Catfish are delicious, and we’re going to eat them before, during and after we beat the Predators.
Rajon Rondo has been benched five consecutive games by Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg, but with Jimmy Butler (illness) and Dwyane Wade (rest) out for Tuesday’s matchup with the Wizards, the enigmatic point guard was back on the court, serving as the sixth man.

Limited Paul Worrilow Jersey Before the game, Rondo told reporters why the Bulls decided that benching was the right thing to do despite $28 million attached to his name.
Rondo, who calls his situation the most confusing of his career, said he was told by a staff member that the Bulls and Hoiberg were trying to save him from himself.
I thought it was one of their players because I was getting ready to shoot and in my peripheral you see a body right there and he is saying, ‘I am right here! I am right here! I got your stunt!’ Lee said after the game, via ESPN. Usually in basketball terminology, that is a switch or I am going to jump out, so I shot-faked and drove. I still should have shot the shot.
The NBA agreed with Lee and fined Wizards assistant coach Sidney Lowe $5,000 and the Wizards organization $15,000 for the incident.
Many Knicks players on the court saw what happened, and were just as upset as Lee. Center Kyle O’Quinn said, At any level, you can’t do that.
Carmelo Anthony added, They have six players on the court.
I think it’s something they [the NBA] need to take a look at, Lee said. Being a basketball player you play off of instincts, and if you hear somebody right there, that’s why I try to make the right play. But I still should have shot it.
The league heard Lee and took action.
Early Tuesday morning, LeBron James provided uncharacteristically harsh comments to ESPN regarding Charles Barkley in response to criticism leveled by the TNT analyst.
“I’m not going to let him disrespect my legacy like that,” James said about Barkley. “I’m not the one who threw somebody through a window. I never spit on a kid. I never had unpaid debt in Las Vegas. I never said, ‘I’m not a role model.’ I never showed up to All-Star Weekend on Sunday because I was in Vegas all weekend partying.”
“Even if it’s not long-term you’ve got two arms in camp, you’ve got Ryan Mallett, and you’ve got another guy Dustin Vaughan and so you need another arm at the very least, and so a guy like (Colin) Kaepernick, if they decide to go that route, would bring them insurance and enable them to have some flexibility and I think give them some options,” the NFL Insider said on “Mike and Mike” Thursday. “But there’s been so much discussion about the Kaepernick thing that I think when a team moves that’s going to be a huge talking point.”
But the question remains with Kaepernick, what will it take to get him signed? Does he want to be a backup? That may get lost in this situation. While it’s probably right that owners don’t want to sign him either because of his political views, the backlash from fans if they sign him, or simply out of spite, Kaepernick has been a starter most of his career even though he backed up Alex Smith and Blaine Gabbert at times in San Francisco.
Will he take a backup spot, or even a third spot behind Flacco and Mallett? Or is he holding out for a starting job?
Either way, with a GM like Ozzie Newsome and a coach like John Harbaugh, Kaepernick would be with a well-run organization for the former Super Bowl starter if they decide to go that route.
Brogdon hasn’t played in April because of a back injury, an ailment that will keep him out at least through Milwaukee’s matchup Saturday on the road against the 76ers, but his team’s performance in his absence only highlights the significance of his presence. In three games without the 6-5, 215-pounder, the Bucks (40-39), currently sixth in the Eastern Conference playoff standings, have gone 1-3, dropping games to the Mavericks, Thunder and Pacers. Prior to his departure, Milwaukee had won five of six, a stretch during which Brogdon was averaging 13 points, 6.3 assists and 3.6 rebounds.
Authentic Mens John Phillips Jersey His scoring averaged increased every month since the start of the season, beginning at 7.8 points per game in November and topping out at 12.7 in March to help keep the Bucks’ dreams of reaching the playoffs alive after failing to qualify in each of the previous two seasons after losing Jabari Parker for the season in early February.

Taken with the 36th overall pick, the Virginia product is a wiley old man at 24 years old. Six of the past nine Rookie of the Year winners have been one-and-done prospects. The list includes the Timberwolves’ Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, the Cavs’ Kyrie Irving, the Kings’ Tyreke Evans, the Knicks’ Derrick Rose and the Warriors’ Kevin Durant. Brandon Roy was the last Rookie of the Year to exhaust his college eligibility.
McCaw has come a long way. While Warriors executive Jerry West noted that teams would be sorry they did not draft McCaw, Kerr himself admitted last summer, I didn’t know anything about Patrick because we played all the way up until about a week before the draft and I didn’t watch much college basketball, except for my alma mater. So I didn’t know who he was..
Poeltl and Siakam are part of a bench that is now shaping up to consist almost entirely of players who are 24 or younger, including Norman Powell (who could start), Bruno Caboclo and rookie OG Anunoby. They’re a big part of what the Raptors hope is a rejuvenating facelift for a group that seemed to have stagnated after reaching the conference finals two years ago and falling back to the East semis last year.
Elite Kids Michael Jordan Jersey Toronto was able to achieve most of what it set out to do in what was a necessary overhaul to stave off the luxury tax and give this team an opportunity to grow. But the one player — Valanciunas — the Raptors were not able to move still lingers, and he remains the biggest question on the team’s roster.
Friday night was a prime example. Hardaway Jr. scored 36 points off the bench to help the Hawks nearly overcome a 25-point deficit.
Sound familiar, Atlanta?
I worked with Timmy a lot, it was great to see him get buckets like that, Korver said. I told him to go get all his money. He’s earned it.
The Hawks are 35-26 after the tough loss against the Cavs. If the season ended today, the Hawks could see the Cavs for the third consecutive year in the playoffs — this time trying to stop a familiar face.
Limited Womens Jason Hammel Jersey It’s hard to be mad at (Korver), Paul Millsap said. I played with him in Utah and he’s such a stand-up guy. He’s one of the main reasons I’m in Atlanta today. As much as I want to beat them, I respect how that team operates and it fits Kyle perfectly.
Easily overshadowed by the vicious dunk in this clip is the All-Star-Game-caliber defense that Holiday plays on Westbrook, giving him an unobstructed path to an annihilation of Jrue’s prized new teammate. He barely moves. Take a look at other highlights from this game and you’ll find Holiday loafing around listlessly on a number of defensive plays similar to this.
This is startling for a player who comes with a strong defensive reputation, and considering the Pelicans defense is 4.2 points better per 100 possessions with Holiday on the court this season.
76ers big man Joel Embiid will undergo surgery to repair a previously identified meniscus tear in his left knee, the team announced Wednesday.
Embiid, who missed his first two NBA seasons due to foot injuries, will miss the rest of this season but is expected to be fully healed for the 2017-18 season when he and No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons (foot) are expected to finally take the court together.
The same guy will be putting on the No. 9 jersey for the Wizards coming out of the All-Star break, but he’ll have a different name on the back of it 鈥?and on his driver’s license. The 24-year-old used his time off to complete the lengthy process of legally changing his name to the moniker everyone always used for him anyway.
Limited Mens Justin Hardy Jersey That’s just what people know me as. They just call me Mac. No one calls me Sheldon, really. Not the basketball people I know, Mac said, via The Washington Post. My little brother calls me Mac. My teammates call me Mac. My old teammates call me Mac.
Part of his reasoning also stemmed from the fact that McClellan is his father’s name, and Mac has no relationship with him at all.
He said his mother, Angel Johnson, and the rest of the family were on board with the change.
Limited Mens Jaromir Jagr Jersey
The West has been so dominant at the top the past few years. You have the Warriors, Spurs and now with how James Harden has been playing, the Rockets. You’ve had your solid core for a few years. How do you guys view the championship window with all that competition in the conference?
Of course Michael Jordan has a private jet.
The greatest basketball player ever and majority owner of the Hornets, is far, far too important to fly among us commoners, even y’all big baller, shot callers, who travel first class. The man has places to be, people to see and billions of dollars in revenue to generate.
Jordan wasn’t just any basketball player (See his six championships and six Finals MVPs in six appearances). So, he can’t fly just any private jet. MJ recently got his Beyonce and Jay Z on and upgraded his PJ, wrapping his G550 in the elephant print design that has made many of his Air Jordan sneakers so popular.
Such an extension’s parameters weren’t exactly known yet due to differing reports on what exactly the salary cap will be, but it can be estimated that Cousins would have received something along the lines of $220 to $230 million over the next six years (the one year remaining on his deal, followed by the extension) had he signed the deal. It’s a lot of money for a player that has been a part of the issues in Sacramento due to his erratic behavior on the floor.
Overall, while the team’s reticence to tie up that much money in such a mercurial player make some sense, it’s hard to buy that this deal is going to turn into a better outcome than signing Cousins to that contract. There’s just not enough upside.
The clear idea here is to shift the culture of the organization. In terms of that, the team has done its job. Hield is one of the highest character prospects you’ll find around the league, a genuine force of nature that will not only lead by example in terms of hard work, but also be a terrific public face for the organization as an ambassador to the fans. It wasn’t exactly a secret around the league that the Kings coveted Hield in the 2016 NBA Draft. They think highly of him.

Yankees fans just got potentially terrible news. Michael Pineda might be out for the year.
According to MLB.com, Pineda has a partial tear of his UCL that could require Tommy John surgery.
Now with the opportunity to go anywhere he’s wanted, Kung-Fu Panda and the franchise that made him a a three-time World Series champion reportedly have mutual interest.
According to FanRag Sports, people close to Sandoval say he would 鈥榣ove’ to go back to the Giants and some Giants people have spoken behind the scenes about the possibility, and they suggest it could be a consideration.
Current Giants third baseman Eduardo Nunez, who is slashing .297/.321/.413 and recently activated from the DL, is expected to be moved by the deadline as San Francisco boasts the second-worst record in baseball.
Brian Roberts Jersey So do the Giants give a young player a chance to claim the role or bring back a former fan favorite at a bargain deal once he clears waivers? The latter doesn’t seem like a bad idea at this point. The Giants have nothing to lose and maybe familiar surroundings could remind Sandoval and all of us of what he’s capable.
Something else to keep in mind. Lackey’s a free agent after the season, and if he’s not part of the playoff equation 鈥?he’s probably behind fifth-starter options Eddie Butler and Mike Montgomery, too 鈥?maybe the Cubs try to trade him and get something for beyond 2017. It won’t be much, but anything is more than they’d get when he walks as a free agent (assuming a qualifying offer isn’t remotely likely).
